Castoldi Jet Australia are distributors and offer technical support and spare parts for Australasia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, The Pacific Islands, Singapore and many other parts of S.E Asia and the Middle East.

Castoldi Jet‚s head quarters are in Italy near Milan. They have been making waterjets for over 40years. It’s founder Eng. Luigi Castoldi was an aeronautical engineer, an inventor and a pioneer who founded the large Italian industrial group BCS.

His first waterjet was born, through his passion for fishing the rivers of northern Italy, and trying to reach his favourite spots.

  • Achille Castoldi, Arno XI, world speed record racers 800 Kg with Timossi boat / Ferrari engine F1 : 131,51 knots.
  • Luigi Castoldi, founder of Castoldi Company and few other world renowned Companies like B.C.S. and Mosa, acclaimed designer and ingeneer, designes the motor boat which, driven by his brother Achille, gains in 1930 the world speed record.

    In 1959 he revolutionizes the waterjet drive system.
  • Since that time , the Castoldijet Company is unanimously considered an innovator and pioneer of the waterjet propulsion system, and the Company that launched its world wide popularity thanks to the development of a totally new design, which upset the general opinion that reputed Waterjet propulsion low in efficiency , poorly manoeuvrable and not a likely successful form of propulsion.

    Since the beginning of the first research and developments in 1958 until today Castoldi is still leading the edge with advanced concepts making its water jet units even more efficient, long lasting, self contained ,easy to maintain and unique in many of it’s features.
  • In 1962 a small series of some hundreds scaled water jet units were produced and distributed on the Ticino river, close to the company’s facility in order to allow Castoldi technicians a steady monitoring.
  • In February 1969 the first unit destined for mass production was exhibited at the Genova boat show. The Castoldi water jet unit, model JET 05 was born .
    No water jet drive was distributed at that time in Europe and this new unit was viewed with big interest and wariness.
    This 05 is still in production and use today (2011) having undergone many ugrades through the years.
    2012 will see the end of this unit, being replaced by the model 200, and the model 201HC. A deserved and honourable retirement, after providing service for over 40 years to thousands of owners.

    Many water jet drives were sold at that time in Europe and this new unit was viewed with a lot of interest.

    In 1970 a strictly production model of Jet 05 appeared for the first time in the Pavia-Venezia motor boat race, which was 400 Km long. The 270 HP powered Castoldi jet runabout arrived first in Venice at an average speed of 58,5 knots winning the first price of its category and beating all the traditional hulls.
  • From 1971 to 1972 this aluminum 7.5 m boat, equipped with a standard production waterjet unit wins all the italian off-shore races in C2 class.
  • Franco Castoldi wins the offshore race Santa Margherita - Montecarlo / Montecarlo - Santa Margherita, 200 nm at an average speed of 57,2 knots with an Enfield 37‚ boat equipped with 2 x 600 HP engines and a special twin stage counter revolving waterjet drive, designed by his father Luigi Castoldi.

    Up to now this is the first long distance offshore race in the history of motor boating winned by a boat having a propulsion system different than a propeller.
  • At the mythical Niamey-Bamako river Niger race 1200 NM long 5 boats equipped with Castoldi waterjet drives took the first 5 positions against 37 other much more powerful boats.
  • One of the two Jet Explorer boats used for an expedition in central Africa, 1989.
  • Up to now more than 30.000 Castoldi water jet units are operating all over the world; among their operators there is the Italian Customs with their patrol boats.
  • In the early 90‚s Castoldi produces the first twin seats jet ski ever made and starts to export it worldwide
  • The second Waverider generation has also been used for a water chase in Venice during the shooting of a Wim Wenders movie
  • Castoldi waterjet drives power the Destriero support boat during its world speed record crossing the Atlantic Ocean, in year 1992
  • The Italian Navy with their fast landing craft.
  • The Carabinieri with their Castoldi custom-built fast patrol boats.
  • The first Jet Tender unit (called JT 18 PRO) has been launched in 1998. This unit is the precursor of all the present range (in the picture the unit manufactured for Carabinieri).
  • The Spanish Coast Guard with its fleet of 40 knots 22 m patrol rescue vessels.
